
Katie Silva, DVM, Owner
Dr. Silva joined the Animal Hospital of Cloverdale staff as an associate veterinarian in July of 2007, after graduating from UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in June 2007. Prior to veterinary school, Katie worked as a veterinary assistant at animal hospitals in Cotati and Sacramento. She received her BS in Biological Sciences at UC Davis in 2001. Dr. Silva and her business partner, Matt Ostermann, RVT purchased the practice from Dr. Biery in 2020.
Katie is a Sonoma County native, raised in Rohnert Park. She attended high school in Santa Rosa. Katie and her husband Mike have 2 children, Elizabeth born in May '09 and Alexis born in January '11. They reside in Cloverdale with their cat Dude. Dude was adopted after Dr. Biery and Dr. Silva repaired his broken leg when he was brought into the hospital as an injured stray.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys volunteering with Washington PTSA, and watching her children run cross country and track and play soccer. She also enjoys baking, camping, reading (especially Stephen King novels), and playing board games with family and friends.

Amy Smith, DVM
Dr. Smith has been an associate veterinarian with the Animal Hospital since 1997. Prior to that, she spent time working at Mendocino Animal Hospital and as a relief veterinarian at several practices in Ukiah. She graduated from UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994, and received a BS from Humboldt State University in 1990.
She currently has 4 cats (French Fry, Pickle, Toby & Winter). When not enjoying work, Amy is busy with her husband and twin sons and is an avid outdoor enthusiast.

Stephanie Peterson, DVM
Dr. Stephanie Peterson has devoted much of her life to the veterinary field, following a passion for animal care that began at the age of 15 in Arizona. Starting as a volunteer, she gained hands-on experience in nearly every role within a veterinary hospital, from kennel assistant to medical director. In 2013, she proudly earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Peterson has a special interest in integrative veterinary medicine. She has completed advanced training in veterinary acupuncture at Chi University and is enthusiastically broadening her knowledge by studying veterinary herbal therapies.
At home, Dr. Peterson is lovingly supervised by cats Archie and Bennett. She enjoys family road trips, experimenting with new soup recipes, and soaking up the tranquility of the beach.
Dr. Peterson is genuinely excited to become an active part of the Cloverdale community and looks forward to building meaningful connections.

Edward Biery, DVM
Dr. Biery graduated from UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in June 1980 after obtaining a B.S. degree in Animal Science at UCD in 1976. After graduation Dr. Biery, a California native, spent 14 months doing an internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Mass. Ed's next stop was at a busy ten doctor practice in Thousand Oaks, Ca. In 1984 Dr. Biery purchased the Animal Hospital of Cloverdale. In 2020, Dr. Biery sold the practice to long time employees, Katie Silva, DVM and Matt Ostermann, RVT.
Ed and his family have resided in Cloverdale ever since 1984. Both of Ed's children went through the Cloverdale school system. Ed's family has had a multitude of pets over the years, many of which were adopted from the Animal Hospital. Dr. Biery's special interests are surgery and ophthalmology. In his spare time Ed enjoys reading, camping and long walks with his family.

Matt Ostermann, BA, RVT, Owner
Matt has been a member of the staff since 1997, when he was only 16 years old. He has worked with animals all his life, including volunteering at Safari West, working with Wildlife Fawn Rescue, and traveling to Namibia, Africa to work with the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Matt has two cats of his own, a female Bengal named Calypso and a solid white male named Yeti. In the past, he has had exotic pets such as leopard geckos, scorpions, and tarantulas.
Matt graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1999, then from Sonoma State University with a BA in Liberal Studies in 2003, and received his Registered Veterinary Technician license in 2006. Matt and his business partner, Katie Silva, DVM purchased the practice from Dr. Biery in 2020.
In his free time, Matt enjoys wine tasting with his beautiful wife Elyce, obstacle course racing (Spartan, Tough Mudder), running, working out, playing tennis, baseball, football, and playing board games with his fellow co-workers and friends. Matt has two sons, Dylan who was born in 1998 and Noah who was born in 2014. Matt has lived in Cloverdale almost his whole life and loves being able to help the animals in the community that he lives in.

Ellen Deabi, RVT
Ellen has been a valued employee since 2002. She received her AA degree in 1997, as well as attaining her NVT and California RVT license that same year. Prior to working at the Animal Hospital of Cloverdale, she worked for a large emergency clinic in Sacramento as well as a veterinary hospital in Ukiah.
She currently resides in Redwood Valley. She currently has 4 cats, Royal, Jazzy, Abby, Mogwai and 14 Chickens. In her spare time she spends most of her time canning and gardening. Ellen also enjoys bowling, fishing, and horseback riding.

Megan Rebottaro, RVT
Megan has been a valued team member since 2017. Megan recently (2024) got married to her husband Joe. Together, they have three beagles: Alvin, Macy, and Bonnie, and a toy fox terrier named Petrie. Megan received her RVT license in 2020 through the SRJC, and has been working in the field since 2015. She was raised at her family's Calistoga ranch, which she loved helping with the animals. Megan loves to spend her free time working in the yard, taking the dogs to run around the family ranch, camping, and travelling.

Kevin Deabi
Kevin has been with us here since 2006. He lives in Ukiah. Kevin has one dog, a German Shepherd named Hero. Kevin has worked in the past training police dogs for the Mendocino County Sheriff's Department. He has been a member of the Working Dog Association since the age of 18 and helps train German Shepherds as an agitator and handler helper.
In his spare time he enjoys fishing, is an avid moviegoer, and enjoys working on computers.

Christina Miller
Christina joined us in July of 2020. She moved to Cloverdale with her family in 1988, and has been a proud member of the community ever since. She grew up on Pine Mountain with her family, and lots of pets. After graduating from Cloverdale High School, she went into the wine and hospitality business. Christina enjoys hiking and going to the beach. She also loves snuggling up with her little Yorkie, Athena. In her free time, you'll find her reading, cooking and traveling with her two sons, Dane and Mason.

Lori Angeli-Davis
Lori Joined our staff in December, 2016. Lori was born and raised in Cloverdale and has lived here most her life. She graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1994. She and her husband Glen bought her grandfather's ranch in 2018, making her a 4th generation ranch and vineyard owner. Lori and Glen have one daughter, Paige who was born in March, 2011.
Lori has one very spoiled Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lily, while Glen has 4 hunting dogs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Krista Chase
Krista has worked at the Animal Hospital of Cloverdale since November 2021 when she moved to Cloverdale with her husband and daughters. She was born and raised in Forestville. She has worked at a couple different veterinary hospitals over the years, but took some time off to start a family. Her oldest daughter Kaley was born on Christmas Eve 2014 and her youngest daughter Keira was born on Thanksgiving 2017. She is happy to be back working at a veterinary hospital. She currently has a boxer (Remy), a chihuahua (Ducky) a rescue chihuahua (Milo) and 2 cats (Daisy & Tessa). In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.
Liz Blasi
Liz joined our team in February 2025. She is a dedicated receptionist at the Animal Hospital of Cloverdale, where she plays a key role in ensuring a welcoming environment for both clients and their pets. With a love for animals and a passion for customer service, Liz takes pride in being the first point of contact for families seeking veterinary care. Outside of work, Liz is a devoted wife to Mike and a proud mother to three children—Alyse, Ryan, and Zoey. She enjoys supporting them in their sports activities and cherishing family time together. Liz has been an active member of her community for over 17 years, volunteering and contributing to various local causes.
At home, Liz and her family, share their lives with two dogs, Dash and Ruby, and a cat named Bo, understanding firsthand the bond between pets and their owners. She enjoys hiking, spending time at the beach, and baking in her free time. Liz is committed to contributing to a compassionate and supportive environment at the veterinary hospital, where she helps ensure pets and their families receive the care they need. Whether she's helping clients or spending time with her own family, Liz is driven by her love for animals and her community.
